Head Of School

Jeremy Williams joins GEMS United School as the new Head of School in August 2020.

Jeremy originally hails from Chicago, Illinois in the US, where he spent his entire childhood.  He then attended Saginaw Valley State University in Michigan where he was a student-athlete studying Journalism whilst playing American Football.  After a year, he transferred to Indiana University Northwest where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and an endorsement in Teaching Mathematics.

Jeremy’s teaching career began in Indiana, teaching 6th Grade Mathematics whilst also studying for a Master’s Degree in Education at Indiana Wesleyan University and completing his Indiana Principals License.

Passionate about innovation, Jeremy has always held this at the heart of his educational spirit. In 2008, he was recognised as a Fellow and inducted into the Northwest Indiana Society of Innovators for his action research on Inquiry-based Mathematics. From here, Jeremy served schools in the United States as an Elementary Assistant Principal, Head of High School, and Superintendent until he moved to Al Ain in 2016.  Prior to his move, Jeremy proudly held the title of youngest Superintendent in his state’s history.

In Al Ain, Jeremy held the role of Head of School of Manor Hall International whilst completing his Ph.D at Indiana Wesleyan University in their school of Business and Organisational Leadership with a research focus on Transformational Leadership of Principals and Organisational Commitment of Teachers.  He is a regular international speaker on the future of education and a syndicated educational podcaster since 2017.
